Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia were going strong from 2005-2009 until they broke up and later in 2014 accused molestation case on Ness Wadia. There was a whirlwind of news and media during the time. The incident allegedly took place in 2014 at the Wankhede Stadium. This Monday, the Bombay High Court suggested both Preity and Ness to finish off the case.
Since the case is going on for a long time, none of the parties shook from what they stood for. Thus, it became difficult for the court to come to any conclusion.
The petition for the case was heard by justices Ranjit More and Bharti Dangre. The bubbly actress’s lawyer revealed that they urged Bombay HC for an apology from Ness. Preity’s and her lawyer stood the ground that Ness Wadia needs to apology and then only will she settle the matter. Though they are not insisting on a written apology.
However, Wadia's advocate, on the other hand, Abad Ponda said that Ness is not ready to apologise.
According to PTI, ness’s lawyer told HC, "We want to bury the hatchet, but my client (Ness Wadia) is not ready to apologise. The complainant (Preity Zinta) wants to extract an apology and get media attention."
Listening to both the parties, Justice More said, "Just finish it off now." Preity and Ness are co-owners of IPL team Kings Xl Punjab.
As per the complaint, Ness abused and molested Preity and grabbed her in her arm, even after the actress asked him to calm down, the former was abusing the team over ticket distribution.
The actress lodged an FIR on June 13, 2014, under IPC sections 354 which is the section on assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty. There are more charges on Ness as well which are 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (using word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
