We human, have a tendency to search for a source of motivation every now and then because life is full of shit, and I humbly agree to this. And, to get you motivated, we have bought just the right thing for you.
So, Illustrator Gavin Anug Than said adieu to his routine corporate job in 2011, and finally went on to follow his passion for creating cartoons and comics. Since then he has created many comics and one of them just stands out.
This comic is loosely based on a poem by Edgar Albert Guest, the comic is titled: “It couldn’t be done” and it aims at inspiring people who are facing fat-shaming in their life or want to lose the unwanted fat from the body.
Gavin says: “I love taking old poems and adapting them for modern readers, so I thought using fitness and running was a good idea, Plus, the character in the comic was used in one of my earlier Zen Pencils comics where he first decided to lose weight. So I wanted to bring him back and continue his story.”
Many people got inspired from the comic and made Gavin’s work an overnight sensation, Gavin says: “I guess the combination of the poem and my pictures really packs a punch. That’s the power of comics! The poem is pretty motivational but I thought that by adding a new original story I could make it the message even stronger and I think I achieved that. Well, I hope I did.”
