Kajol has made her mark in the Bollywood industry for over two decades and has featured in super hit movies like “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and "My Name is Khan". Certainly the actor has been quite choosy when it comes to working in any film and that can be the reason she has done hit movies in the entertainment industry. She is now busy with the promotions of her upcoming movie “Helicopter Eela”. The story is about a single mother who aspires to become a singer. It is based on the Gujarati play Beta, Kaagdo, written by Anand Gandhi and is directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
Kajol recently appeared on Saavn's new podcast "Take 2 with Anupama and Rajeev" along with actor Rajkummar Rao where they discussed the reasons of being in films. Kajol talked about the reasons why she didn’t want to work in the film industry. The reason that she gave was that she didn’t felt that it was worth the money that was being paid out.
"I never wanted to be an actor actually. I didn't think of it was worth the money that was being paid out. I didn't think it was worth the effort and I definitely thought my mother worked too hard for whatever she was doing and however we were at that point of time," Kajol said.
The actress added that she told her mother Tanuja -- a veteran actress - that she wanted a "paycheck at the end of the month". Talking about Bollywood, Kajol said that it is an erratic industry and acting and erratic profession. Meanwhile, she is awaiting the release of her film "Helicopter Eela".
