Sholay is definitely the biggest film of Indian cinema. The film manages to entertain us, even today. The epic saga of vengeance and revenge was so aptly told by celebrated filmmaker Ramesh Sippy. And not only it's the greatest film ever made, it is also, probably, the greatest star cast ever assembled with the likes of on-screen legends like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Amjad Khan, among others.
There will be hardly anyone who has not loved the film, the film has so many memorable dialogues and scenes that the movie still makes us go guns out with whistles and claps. But do you know that Dharmendra’s son Sunny Deol did not like one legendary scene of the film and he has his reasons for that.
There is this scene where Dharmendra’s character goes to kill Gabbar but when Thakur persuades him to leave the villain, he agrees, that scene is loved by cinephiles but Sunny Deol has some different thoughts about the scene. He says:
“You know this film, this is the only place when I really didn't like it. What I didn't like about this is, I wanted my dad to beat him (laughs). I just didn't like it, what the hell man! He should just beat the hell out of him. But I think that was the directorial thing.”
Sunny Deol will next be seen with his father and brother in the upcoming film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’. The film is a new entrant in the much successful comedy franchise. The trio of Bobby-Sunny-Dharmendra will be accompanied by Kriti Kharbanda who was last seen in Kaarwan.
The film is slated to release on 31st August.
