Farhan Akhtar played the role of Milkha Singh in the movie, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The movie was super hit. The movie from 2013 has left an image of Milkha Singh as Farhan Akhtar but do you know that a school from West Bengal used Farhan Akhtar’s image in their book in place of Milkha Singh.
Yes, you heard that right! Farhan Akhtar himself tweeted about this misprint in the textbooks saying, “To the Minister of School Education, West Bengal. There is a glaring error with the image used in one of the school textbooks to depict Milkha Singh-Ji. Could you please request the publisher to recall and replace this book? Sincerely @derekobrienmp”
The publisher of the book had obviously made a blunder by printing Farhan’s picture in place of the real ‘Flying Sikh’, Milkha Singh.
Farhan Akhtar received a quick reply to the tweet from the Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien who said, “On it. Thanks for the feedback.”
To the quick reply of the minister, Farhan commented, “Appreciate your response. Tagged you since you take education very seriously.”
Farhan’s tweet informing about the error collected over 7000 likes and more than 2000 retweets. People could not stop themselves from mocking the mistake by saying, “Maybe the publisher is just a huge fan of yours.” While the other comment read, “Thank god, it shows the Milkha Singh(picture wala) not Mika Singh.”
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was based on the legendary sprinter's life and also starred Divya Dutta, Meesha Shafi, Pavan Malhotra and Art Malik in supporting roles.
Farhan Akhtar will next be seen in Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim.
