The Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on 16th August 2018 at AIIMS.
The 93-year-old political icon was suffering from kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection and even respiratory problems.
Mr. Vajpayee was ailing for a long time but his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to AIIMS where he was put on life supporting system. He was in the hospital for the last nine weeks.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed his last at 5.05 pm on Thursday and the same was confirmed by AIIMS through an official press release.
The mortal remains of the former prime minister were taken to his home from the hospital where all the ministers have been reaching to pay their last respects to the great man.
The mortal remains of the BJP co-founder will be kept for the public to pay last tribute from 9 am to 1 pm as disclosed by the official announcement.
The statement released by the AIIMS read, “It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 05:05 pm on 16.08.2018. Shri Vajpayee was admitted in AIIMS on 11.06.2018 and was stable in the last 9 weeks under the care of a team of AIIMS doctors.”
Vajpayee's last rites to be held at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal at 4 pm.
