Meghna Gulzar has been recently lauded with two back to back fine films, one being the critically and commercially hit ‘Raazi’ and other is ‘Talwar’. Both the movies have been loved by the audience and finally Gulzar’s daughter is finding her audience to appreciate her talent.
Now, everyone was asking one question and that is “After Razzi what is the next thing for Meghna?”
Seems like Meghna have finalised the next big thing for her, she will be directing a web series on former Mumbai top cop, Rakesh Maria.
The series will be produced by Reliance Entertainment’s Phantom Films. This will be based on the life of the highly regarded top cop, and former Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Rakesh Maria. The focus of the series will heavily be on Maria’s cases including the serial bomb blasts in 1993, the Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts in 2003, and the interrogation of Ajmal Kasab.
The cop on who life the series will be based on was in-charge of investigating for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008 and interrogated Ajmal Kasab. It seems like, it is going to be a riveting experience yet again.
Rakesh Maria spoke about the news, “I am happy to re-live the journey, especially when piloted by a brilliant and sensitive director like Meghna Gulzar, and a production house of the calibre of Reliance Entertainment’s Phantom Films. More than the nostalgia, it’s also a valuable opportunity to place before the people the extraordinary work of the Mumbai Police when facing tough challenges and working against all odds.”
Talking about the announcement, Meghna expressed that Maria’s life is a powerful lens of crime and terror and “The potential of this content is limitless, and that is supremely exciting for me,” she added.
