Ranbir Kapoor’s magnum opus Sanju has been creating fireworks at the ticket window since the day of its release. The biopic drama opened exceptionally well and gained momentum over the weekend. On the third day, the film saw a monstrous number of Rs. 46.71 crore which took the film’s weekend collection to a huge amount of Rs 120.06 crore.
Film analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his twitter handle to break this big news, he wrote:
“#Sanju sets the BO on 🔥🔥🔥… Gets #JaaduKiJhappi from the audience… Collects ₹ 46.71 cr on Sun, MIND-BOGGLING… Has an EXCEPTIONAL ₹ 💯 cr+ opng weekend… Emerges HIGHEST OPENING WEEKEND of 2018… Fri 34.75 cr, Sat 38.60 cr, Sun 46.71 cr. Total: ₹ 120.06 cr. India biz.”
Looking at the trends, it is safe to say that Sanju will put up exceedingly good numbers by the end of its 1-week run. The important thing which is to be seen is if the film can go ahead to race past the collections of Padmaavat (highest till now), although Sanju has no competition until 13th July as three major releases, Hollywood’s Ant-Man and Wasp and Bollywood’s Dhadak and Soorma hit the theatres on this day; So, Sanju has an open ground to play and gather as much cash as it can.
The film has bought the talented actor back in the game whose last few outings tanked at the box office despite being pretty good films (Tamasha and Jagga). Thanks to Raju Hirani to bring back the lad back in the game and earn mind-boggling numbers which he totally deserves.
