Dry feet or cracked heels are a common problem and actually, they are related. Dry feet is a more common problem because it happens to almost everyone. When the dryness increases way too much, because of lack of care or ignorance, heels starts to crack.
Dry feet are the result of thickened skin, less moisturization and tanning. Sometimes they cause even cause and it can be a cause of concern if not treat properly. 5 easy home remedies to heal your dry feet or cracked heels:
1. Petroleum Jelly and Lemon Juice
Start by soaking your feet in lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes, this will soften your feet. Now make a paste using 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of petroleum jelly. Apply this paste and gently massage the paste on the affected areas. Let the paste sit for at least an hour, better if you can keep it overnight wearing a pair of socks. Try this method daily for a week and you will see the difference.
2. Olive Oil Massage
Olive oil is great for moisturizing your skin, it helps in smoothening skin. With this, you only have to take olive oil and massage it onto the damaged areas. This will work wonder as it will help in good blood circulation. If you don’t have olive oil, you can also use almond oil or coconut oil as alternate.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar, Honey, and Rice Flour Scrub
Simply make a mixture containing 3 teaspoons of each - apple cider vinegar, honey and rice flour. Wash your feet with a soap, let it dry, and then apply the paste. After you have applied the paste, it is recommended to cover your feet with a pair of socks and let it settle overnight. Next morning rinse it off in and see the magic.
4. Bananas
Bananas are great for heel fissures, you have to just mash a few ripe bananas into a paste. Apply the paste and rub it for 5 minute and leave it for 20 minutes. You can also let the paste stay overnight for better results, don’t forget to wear a pair of socks.
5. Avocado and Coconut Oil
Simply mash avocado and make a paste with coconut oil and rub it on your feet. After you apply, cover your feet with socks and the paste will work more effectively.
